Dedicated Engineering Team

A flexible engineering team that integrates with your workflow and ships alongside you. Best for products with traction that need to scale features, performance, and reliability without the overhead of hiring.

TL;DR

Why hiring is the wrong default

Most growing teams default to hiring when they hit capacity. It’s the obvious move. But hiring well takes three to six months: sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, onboarding. And that’s if you do it right. If you don’t, you spend the same months and end up with the wrong person.

In the meantime, the roadmap slips, the team works late, and the product loses ground. By the time the new hire is contributing real work, you needed two more.

A dedicated team gets you experienced engineers shipping in week one. No ramp, no recruitment overhead, no risk of a bad hire eating six months. You scale capacity to the work, and scale back down when the work changes.

How the embed model works

We’re not a vendor you submit tickets to. We’re engineers who show up in your standups, work in your repo, push to your branches, and join the same Slack threads as the rest of your team.

The engineers stay on your project month over month. They learn your codebase, your conventions, your domain. By month two they’re contributing as deeply as a senior in-house hire would after six.

The work fits your existing process. If you run sprints, we sprint with you. If you ship continuously, we deploy continuously. Whatever review process and quality bar your team uses, we use too.

What “senior” actually means here

Every engineer who works on your project has shipped production systems before. That means they’ve handled migrations that touched live data, debugged production outages at 2am, scaled systems past the first wall, and made architectural calls they’ve had to live with.

That experience compounds. A senior engineer is faster than a junior, sometimes three to five times faster on the same task, because they’ve already made the mistakes you’re about to discover. You pay more per hour, but you pay for fewer hours and you get better outcomes.

We don’t staff junior engineers to your project to pad margins. If we don’t have the right person, we say so.

When to switch from us to in-house

A dedicated team is the right answer for a few quarters, sometimes a few years, but rarely forever. At some point you’ll want the institutional knowledge of full-time engineers who only work on your product.

When that time comes, we help you make the transition. That might mean documenting the system as we go, training in-house engineers as they ramp, or staying on as a smaller advisory team while you build out the in-house bench.

We’re aligned with the goal of you outgrowing us. That’s how this is supposed to work.

  • Ongoing feature development
  • Performance optimization
  • System scaling and observability
  • Architecture and technical advisory
  • Code review and engineering process support
  • Embedded in your tools and standups
Commitment Monthly retainer, rolling
Minimum Three months
Team 1–4 senior engineers, scaled to work
Rhythm Embedded in your sprint cadence

Teams that have shipped past V1 and need experienced engineers to scale what works. You already know what to build next, you just need senior people who can do it without ramp-up time.

Not for: teams looking for an outsourced engineering org. We embed into your team, not replace it.
